A blend of layers upon layers of instruments, intricate electronica, field recordings, samples and obscure language sýnir/athuganir has a distinct and different character. The title translates as visions/observations - it’s a very intimate personal record while reflecting bigger themes at the same time.

“For a long time I have been working on what I wanted to call my own music: deliberating, writing, recording, editing and discarding. At some point a whole started to emerge. Ideas and patterns fell in sync.”

sýnir/athuganir the debut album by Hallur Már is out September 2. A founding member of Leaves Hallur Már was at the center of the Icelandic musical explosion at the turn of the century when bands and musicians started to get noticed around the world.
